Constructed: 2002-2003 Named in honor of Dr. Elwin L. Skiles, former pastor of Abilene's First Baptist Church and HSU president from 1966-1977, the building houses the Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts. Under the rotunda, the Clayton Roundtable Room features concentric-circle seating for more than 100 students, providing for daily classroom instruction and special guest speakers. Other unique elements include the Skiles Legislative Hearing Room, the Womble Court Room (which serves as an actual judicial setting), and the HSU Hall of Leaders. Established in 2001, the Hall of Leaders honors alumni, former faculty and staff, and HSU Board of Trustee members who have exhibited a distinguished record of achievement and leadership.
